Do you agree that small business owners need to work together to protect themselves from what is happening at the state and federal levels?
Are you familiar with NFIB, federation of independent business, with what we have done and are doing for all small businesses?
NFIB is the largest small business organization in the United States. And, we are the only organization that fights exclusively for independent business owners at both the state and federal levels.
We represent every kind and size of independent business. So, when we testify in front of committees, the politicians know we speak for the entire small business community and not just a special interest group. We are One Voice, One Force for Small Business.
What NFIB members do and they need your help is, you get to vote ballots at both the state and federal level on issues that will directly affect your business profits. We follow up by testifying and fighting before Congress and the state legislature to impact these issues.
Then we report to you how your elected officials voted on the same issues you voted on. Now you have a report card so you know who is standing up for your business and who is not.
This process is so successful that major media like Fox News, Wall Street Journal and Fortune Magazine, have consistently ranked NFIB as the most effective business organization in America.
While you are here running your business we are there fighting for your business.
Here, in the State of Kansas, we have been able to stop over 30 tax increases that would have affected small business. In Washington, we were able to reduce quarterly tax estimates from 110% to 90%. What that means to you is your money stays with you longer. A current challenge is the Cap and Trade Bill that will increase commercial utilities by 40%, and each household in America will pay approximately $1,300 more per year.
I am sure you see the value in what NFIB is doing for your business as do the business people who have joined together for 5, 10, 20 years and more... ...to raise One Voice, One Force against big government, big business and big labor.
Now it is important that everyone is able to be involved; therefore, NFIB membership is based on what you feel you can invest up to a maximum of $10k to prevent any one person from being able to buy influence.
The recommended investment is based on your number of employees. As a non-profit organization, we have a one-member one-vote policy regardless of the amount you choose to invest.
I am contacting you today on behalf of your business neighbors. They are asking you to hold your legislators accountable and to display a voting membership plaque to show you are doing your part to preserve our free enterprise system that gives you the right to own your own business in the first place.
Do you BELIEVE in what NFIB stands for?
