How Much Does Long-Term Care Cost?

See What Long-Term Care Costs in Your Area

Long-Term care services, whether obtained in a nursing home full-time or in your house a few days a week, can cost a considerable amount. But prices vary widely throughout the country due to cost of living differences, state and local regulations and other factors.

The
Cost of Care map shows the average daily cost of nursing home care, and the hourly cost of home health care, for metropolitan areas in all 50 states. As you'll see from the costs, the question isn't always can you afford to have long-term insurance - it's can you afford not to.

Please note that the dollar figures cited in the map have been posted with permission from the MetLife Mature Market Institute. They conduct periodic surveys of the costs of various forms of long-term care services.
